By the Numbers presented by T-Mobile: Fort Bend Marshall Football

Fort Bend Marshall football has put up big numbers, just like everyone expected them to do this season.

The crazy stats aren't a surprise with the ultra-talented roster that the Buffs have, which is essentially made up of state track champions.

Here are some numbers to consider when breaking down the Buffs' 7-1 start to the season.

Points - Point differential is always something to look at when seeing how a team is doing. Through eight games this season, Fort Bend Marshall has a point differential of +197, outscoring opponents 397-100. That is also a nod to the defensive unit for giving up an average 12.5 points per game this year. In district play, the differential sits at +255. That number is quite ridiculous.

Yards - Entering this week, Fort Bend Marshall is ranked third in offensive production in District 11-5A-DII, posting 402 yards per game, while its defensive unit ranked No.1 giving up an average of 191.6 yards per game. Of the 3,216 yards of total offense the Buffs have produced this season, 2,055 of it has come on the ground, which comes as no surprise with the talented Devon Achane rushing out of the backfield.

No Fly Zone - Fort Bend Marshall's defense has been amazing. Not only the yardage but the takeaways. The Buffs' defensive unit has created 26 turnovers this season, which is impressive. Of those 26 turnovers, 12 have been fumbles and 14 have been interceptions. For opposing offenses that is a daunting defense to go against that is turning in a lot of turnovers. Darius Brown leads the team with three interceptions, while Adari Haulcy had two interceptions.

Mr. Dynamic - Devon Achane is one of the key players that drives the offense. The running back has carried the ball 84 times for 1,032 yards and 17 scores. Achane is averaging 12.29 yards per carry.

Dual-Threat - Malik Hornsby has shown is ability to pass and run, which we all knew that he would be good at that. Hornsby has passed for 1,094 yards and rushed for another 634 yards. The senior has accounted for 24 touchdowns (17 passing, 7 rushing) this season.
