EXCLUSIVE: Randle RB Landen-Williams-Callis talks about dropping Top 15
2027 Randle five-star running back Landen Williams-Callis has cut down his lists of 70+ offers to a Top 15.
Williams-Callis top 15 schools consists of Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Houston, Indiana, LSU, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio State, Oregon, SMU, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA and USC.
“It’s getting to that time where I need to settle down. I had 72 offers and wanted to cut it down to 15,” Williams-Callis said. “All the 15 schools have been showing me a ton of love and most of them came to see me in January. They’ve been calling and texting me since they came down to see me and make me feel like family.”
Though Williams-Callis is down to 15 schools, the talented national recruit has a busy next two months taking spring practice visits and scheduling the rest of his official visits.
“I plan on hitting spring practices for all the schools in my top 15. I’m just trying to figure out the dates right now,” he said. “I already have a few official visits set to LSU April 17th-19th, Indiana April 24th-26th, Texas A&M May 28th-30th, Mizzou June 5th-7th, Oregon June 12th-14th and Texas June 19th-21st.”
The Randle star running back is coming off a big junior season on the gridiron this fall but is excited about a busy offseason which will lead to a commitment before his senior year.
“The offseason has been awesome just putting in work and really finding out which schools are real or fake,” Williams-Callis said. “Looking forward to going on my visits, checking out the campuses and seeing how the coaches coach their player.”
As far as the biggest factors in Williams-Callis recruitment, good coaching, development and culture will play a big factor in him making a decision.
“Good coaching, development, a culture with a family type of vibe and just a school that shows they are all in on me,” he said on his biggest factors. “I want to see what place I can go and be there for four years because I’m not a player that wants to decommit once I make my decision.”
VYPE’s number one player in the 2027 class has a busy offseason ahead, stay tuned for more updates on Landen Williams-Callis.
NEXT IN LINE: Brian Manuel Emerging as Atascocita’s Next Star
Atascocita High School has seen plenty of next-level talent walk through the Eagles’ locker room.
From standouts like Kenyon Green, Kam Dewberry, Braylon Conley, Jelani Watkins, Tory Blaylock and Cardae Mack, the Eagles have become a pipeline of elite talent in Greater Houston.
So who’s next in line?
Enter rising senior wide receiver Brian Manuel.
Manuel had a breakout campaign last fall, hauling in 57 receptions for 1,059 yards and 16 touchdowns.
“I feel like my junior year went really well,” Manuel said. “It was my first year on varsity as a starter and I feel like I did a good job doing my part. I still feel like there was more I could have done, but overall it was a good season for me.”
His momentum hasn’t slowed during the offseason. Manuel recently went viral on X on the seven-on-seven circuit after making an incredible one-handed catch that has racked up more than 60,000 views.

“To be honest, it was just instinct,” Manuel said with a laugh. “I wasn’t planning on going up with one hand, but the closer the ball got, I just reached up with my free hand and came down with it.”
Since the viral moment, Manuel has seen his recruitment start to heat up, picking up offers from Texas State, UNLV and Washburn, with several other schools beginning to show interest.
Manuel might still be one of the more underrated wide receivers in the city of Houston, but he has a clear message for college coaches evaluating his film.
“Anybody recruiting me would be getting a dog,” Manuel said. “A game changer and somebody who’s ready to put in work, earn a spot and just play ball.”
Brian Manuel is a name to watch over the coming months — and don’t be surprised if his recruitment takes off in a big way.
