Game Preview: Beeville takes the show on the road against Robstown

After an exciting week last week followed up with a long weekend, the Beeville Trojans are ready to hit the ground running in an unusual Thursday Night Lights matchup on the road against Robstown this week. VYPE dives into what fans can expect headed into week three with both of these squads:

Beeville Trojans (2-0)

The Beeville Trojans are having a show-stopping season already. First, the team posted an incredible 23-16 statement victory over rival Sinton as their season-opening game. Then last week, the Trojans fended off a fourth-quarter comeback by Orange Grove to secure a 41-33 victory in front of a home crowd. As the team gears up for another week on the gridiron, fans should be watching Seth Gutierrez, Davyn Perez, Ryne Espinoza, Elijah Sustaita, and more.

In last week's victory, Gutierrez opened up the Trojans' scoring early in the game with a 100-yard pick six to set the tone right out of the gate. Later in the game, Perez picked up major yards as he broke free and ran for a 93-yard touchdown; Perez, a sophomore, scored three touchdowns for the Trojans against Orange Grove. Gutierrez, Perez, Espinoza, and Beau Auzston all scored for Beeville against Orange Grove and will look towards Thursday night for a big game.

Robstown Cottonpickers (0-2)

Starting their season off a bit rocky, Robstown has already posted two losses; one against Corpus Christi King (21-18) and last week's hard-fought loss against San Antonio Young Man's Leadership Academy (34-33). Attempting to turn their season around, the Cottonpickers are hosting Beeville and gearing up for the game by using each moment as a learning moment to grow from.

Derek Silva, Ryan Flores-Zapata, David Aldaco, Edward Diaz, Elijah Lamkin, Lincoln Lara, and others are going to do whatever it takes to score early against Beeville on Thursday night.
