St. Pius X has the chance to make some noise in the swan song of Victoria Hunter’s high school career. The University of Texas-commit is looking to leave her lasting legacy at SPX. Last season Hunter was first-team, all-district and first-team, all-state last season and is one of seven starters returning for Rodney Smith in the dugout. Other key returners include Brooke Landry (Southern Nazarene University), Sophia Erazo, Julie Tresco and Abigail Odom. “Overall, we played well as a team but encountered costly errors. Our primary goal is eliminating errors and improving offensively,” Smith said. The Panthers’ motto for 2023 is “Hard Work Pays Off”.
