Goose Creek Memorial headlines new VYPE 5A Volleyball rankings

We are officially over a month into the season and the picture is becoming a lot clearer, especially in the 5A level.

There is a TON of movement in the new rankings as a lot of teams are making the turn into district play.

1) Goose Creek Memorial

Here comes GCM! The Patriots have been impressive this year with multiple tournament wins and reaching 25 wins. The Patriots are 25-6 on the year. Taylor Kotlarz and Zoe Martinez lead this group.

2) Manvel
Manvel is sitting at 24-6 overall on the season. The Mavericks have won seven-straight matches and are 2-0 in district to start the year.

3) Grand Oaks

It has been an impressive start to the season for Grand Oaks. The Grizzlies have gone 21-9 overall and 3-0 in district to start. In district, Grand Oaks has lost only two sets in three matches. The Grizzlies have won three-straight (Porter, Lake Creek, Willis).

4)Tomball

Tomball is 20-12 on the season and 3-0 in district. The last three wins have come against Huntsville, Montgomery and Caney Creek.

5)Texas City

Texas City has started the season at 20-10 overall. They are coming off a loss though heading into this week's action.

6) Crosby
The Crosby Cougars are 18-4 overall on the season. The Cougars have won seven-straight matches and have only lost 17 sets all season.

7)Santa Fe

The Indians are 18-11 to start the year. Santa Fe has recently registered wins against Klein Collins, New Caney and Friendswood.

8) Shadow Creek
Shadow Creek has started the year 16-12 overall. The Sharks are coming off wins against Terry, Angleton and Texas City.

9) Foster

Foster has started the year 16-13 overall. The Falcons have lost three of their last five matches. The wins have come against Fort Bend Marshall and Lamar Consolidated.

10) Kingwood Park

Kingwood Park had a rough start to the season but has started off strong in district play. The Panthers are 12-18 overall on the year.
