SPC Spring championships underway in Greater Houston

The Southwest Preparatory Conference spring state championship are wrapping up this week in the Greater Houston-area.

It came to no surprise that the Episcopal School of Dallas boys' lacrosse team led of the championship series with a state win over St. Mark's in the title game. The Kinkaid girls' team beat St. John's in the title game last night.

The softball tourney will feature top four seeds Episcopal, Greenhill, Kinkaid and Trinity Valley. The baseball favorites are Kinkaid, Episcopal, Trinity Valley and FWCD.

Boy's team tennis will be hosted by Episcopal at Lee LeClear Center at Memorial Park, while the girls will play at Houston Christian.

Woodforest Country Club in Magnolia hosts to boys' and girls' tourney. The John Cooper School's Chris McDonald won the individual title, while the Kinkaid boys' team won state by 19 strokes.

St. John's girls were dominant after Round 1, led by Christine Wang. Kinkaid's Will Jacobe and Mason Nome were leading Kinkaid after Round 1 of the boys' draw.
