The Jack Yates Lions are the "Brand" name of Houston high school basketball.

The Lions have scored 100-points in 15 consecutive games to tie the national record. The record is held by... the Jack Yates 2010 team, which is thought to be the school's all-time team. Yates ended up winning the state tournament that season.

Yates (18-3) will face Scarborough (4-15) Tuesday night at 7 pm at Pavilion Stadium with history on the line.

So, who are these Yates Lions?

North Texas-signee Rubin Jones runs the show as a 6-foot-4 point guard, who can slash to the basket and distribute.

Antwon Norman, Jabraylon Vaughn and Darryl Brown (TSU football signee) can light it up from the outside and are interchangeable. Bigs Chuks Isitua and Allen Udemadu are rim protectors and rebounders.

In Yates' fast-paced offense, the bigs don't get the touches but lead the press and can dominate if needed.

So that leaves us with coach Greg Wise. He has the coaching chops and will not change the way he plays. Opponents have to adjust to what Yates' does and that is not something that can be emulated in practice.

Yates will win big Tuesday, but will they get that 100-points?

After Scarborough comes Worthing and North Forest to wrap up the season. That would make it 18 consecutive.
