Antoine Thompson took over the Stony Point basketball program a few years back as the youngest head coach in the history of the school.
Well, youth has been served as the Tigers are one of the top Class 6A programs in the state. Led by national recruit Josiah Mosely (Villanova-signee), the Tigers are putting central Texas basketball on the map.
VYPE’s Matt Malatesta caught up with Thompson to talk about culture and making a State run.
This past Friday (Sept. 10th) the Stony Point Tigers took on the Del Valle Cardinals. During the entire game the Tigers had a huge lead on the Cardinals. By halftime, the Tigers were up 28-0! Although, the Cardinals put up a good fight, it just wasn't enough to beat the Tigers. In the end the Tigers came out on top with a big win 42-7. Next, the Del Valle Cardinals will take on the Westlake Chaparrals (Friday, Sept. 24th). Meanwhile, the Stony Point Tigers will take on the Vandegrift Vipers (Friday, Sept. 17) to kick their season off! View the gallery from the game below!
