THE SETUP: No. 24 Pearland | VYPE Houston Volleyball 2026 Preseason Rankings

Pearland has long been one of the Houston area’s premier volleyball programs, and the Oilers enter 2026 looking to reassert themselves among the city’s elite. After finishing 23-21 and advancing to the Bi-District Round a year ago, Pearland returns with a talented core capable of making a deeper postseason push.

Leading the way is first-team all-district selection and University of Louisiana commit Aaryn Brown. The standout outside hitter produced 251 kills and 205 digs last season and remains a focal point of the Oilers’ attack. Fellow first-team all-district outside hitter Britney Solomon is equally impactful. She led the team with 435 kills, 277 digs, and 525 serve receptions, cementing her status as one of the area’s most productive returning players.

The future is also bright at setter. District Newcomer of the Year Brelynn Wolford returns after a stellar freshman campaign that included 599 assists, 162 digs, and 103 kills. The younger sister of former Pearland standout Cora Wolford, she already looks poised to be one of the district’s top playmakers.

Another key contributor is outside hitter Arie Glover, a second-team all-district selection who added 148 kills last season.

Powered by a seasoned offensive attack and an emerging young foundation, Pearland has all the ingredients to make a progressive climb back into the H-Town equation.
