VYPE U: Ridge Point continues district dominance

Ridge Point entered district play last week with a huge target on their back.

Being District Champs for the last five consecutive years, they expect nothing but everyone's best. With a 52-0 win over Fort Bent Kempner last week, the Panthers entered Week 5 of their season ready for another win.

The Panther offense quickly set the momentum of the game with junior John Paul Richardson at QB scoring on the second play of the first drive.

When it comes to the Panthers' defense, their intensity can be very intimidating. Their front line was determined to apply pressure last night. They did that and much more causing a forced fumble on the Bulldogs' first drive of the game last night. The Panthers woke Austin's offense up quickly.

With a few penalties hurting the Panthers during the second quarter, it allowed the Bulldogs to get on the board. They entered half time with a 27-7 lead over the Bulldogs.

During the second half, the Bulldogs' defense couldn't stop those Panthers. While on the other hand, the Panthers' defense wasn't letting up. With the Panthers scoring another 21 points, they ended the game with a 48-7 win over the Fort Bend Austin Bulldogs.

But this is just the beginning with tons of playmakers on this Ridge Point team. Here's what you could expect to see from the Panthers throughout the rest of district play…

1. An intense defense

This Panthers defense will lead this team on a long run in playoffs this year. With players like senior DE Bryson Stewart and junior MLB Joe Sniffin having a strong presence on defense. It could get very difficult for other teams' offense to adjust because if the front line doesn't stop them, they'll always have backup coming.

2. Versatile offense

Many teams are either a dominant running team or a dominant passing team, but not the Panthers. With senior QB Will Pendergrass ability to launch the ball to junior WR John Paul Richardson, this duo could be potentially unstoppable. On top of that, senior RB Marcus Wright will play a big part on this offense. With a quick dish to him combined with his strong legs and quick feet, you can expect plenty of touchdowns from this young man throughout the season.

3. An overall disciplined team

The Panthers have an amazing coaching staff with coach Brett Sniffin, you can be sure the Panthers will always use the fundamentals of football to win games. Little to no penalties will keep the Panthers ahead of other teams. These young men know how to control the hype and know what it will take to win every week.
