THE RECAP: St. Stephen's Episcopal vs. NYOS Charter Football

St. Stephen's Episcopal faced off against a familiar district opponent in the NYOS Charter Jaguars, on homecoming weekend at Frank Denius Field this past Friday.

What ensued was a fierce back-and-forth showdown, with an array of stellar offensive performances on both sides.

The Jaguars were led by senior ATH Milo Oden, who finished the game with 95 receiving yards for three touchdowns, which were delivered to him by duo-QB's, Lucas Harman (Sr.) and Mark Amichia (Sr.) who each threw two TDs on the night.

On the Spartans side, team-captian Christopher Tapia (Sr. RB/DE) led the ground attack, scoring two early touchdowns before exiting the game at the end of the first half, hindered by leg cramps. Senior ATH Charlie Jones helped to carry the load for the remainder of the game, scoring twice himself.

NYOS was down 33-16 at halftime.

However, a St. Stephens kick return for a touchdown to start the half, followed by a lopsided time of possession in the Spartans' favor dashed any hope of a comeback.

St. Stephen's Episcopal (1-4) would ultimately win their first game of the season 39-30 against the NYOS Charter Jaguars (2-4).
