The North Shore Mustangs have been flying just below the radar all season after a Week 1 loss to South Oak Cliff. But the #Eastside powerhouse reminded everyone who they are with a 42-27 win over red-hot CE King, handing the Panthers their first district loss of the year.
Now, with a showdown looming against No. 6 Summer Creek, the question is simple:
Could North Shore reclaim the No. 1 spot in Houston?
Elsewhere in the city, Cy Ranch took down Bridgeland, likely securing the district crown. No. 2 Dickinson continued its dominance, stacking back-to-back wins over Clear Springs and Clear Falls to stay perfect.
In the latest shake-up, Jordan and Fulshear both moved back into the Class 6A Top 25, while Fort Bend Marshallreturned to the Top 10 after a statement win over Texas City.
And in the private school ranks, Episcopal topped The John Cooper School to punch its ticket to the SPC Championship against rival Kinkaid.
The stretch run is officially here — and the heavyweights are starting to separate from the pack.
