THE POWER RANKINGS: Dripping Springs, Weiss, Georgetown remain atop Austin area softball podium
Dripping Springs, Weiss and Georgetown completed perfect weeks to cling to the podium in this week’s softball Power Rankings. Leander and East View moved up behind them to round out the Top 5, the latter slipping past Hendrickson after defeating the Lady Hawks in district play.
Liberty Hill remained at #7 despite a loss to Leander while Hutto moved ahead of Bowie after two impressive wins. Vista Ridge knocked off ranked Round Rock to close out the Top 10.
Hays swept their week to continue climbing the ladder to #11 ahead of Round Rock, both just ahead of newcomer Bastrop who debuted at #13. Gateway Prep, once again the highest ranked 4A club, settled in behind the Lady Bears at #14.
We don’t have a #15. All of the teams listed as “On the radar” are hovering at or around .500. If/when one of them sweeps a week and looks like they’re gathering momentum, we’ll slot them in the Rankings. Until then, we’re just guessing so we’ll guess equally until someone gets on a roll.
