Frisco Independence vs. Frisco Lone Star - Friday, September 17 at 7 pm

Frisco Independence is currently 1-1 on the season and will enter Friday's game coming off of a 32-19 loss to Wichita Falls Rider. The Knights are surely going to want to get back on track as they take on one of the best teams in the Metroplex. Led by senior quarterback Joe Veracruz who has accounted for 124 passing yardsand one passing touchdown this season, the Knights are certainly going to have to put in a lot of fight. On the ground, junior running back Ude Enyeribe has recorded 200 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries while senior running back and kicker Reggie Bush claims 155 rushing yards of his own and two touchdowns on 11 carries.

Frisco Lone Star is 2-1 on the season with their only loss coming from a strong Aledo team- a game in which star quarterback Garret Rangel went down with an injury. Last week, the Rangers took the field against Frisco Heritage with junior quarterback Gabriel Barrientes in the pocket. Barrientes completed 61% of his passes with 200 passing yards and two passing touchdowns while senior wide receiver Ashton Jeanty led the charge on the ground with 140 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries during the 51-24 win over Frisco Heritage.

Fans can expect to see Lone Star as poised as ever as they come out and face off against Frisco ISD opponent Frisco Independence. The Rangers' offense is- and has continued to prove to be- one of the best in North Texas. We will see that Friday evening as they look to advance to a 2-1 record.

Arlington Martin vs. Southlake Carroll

Arlington Martin vs. Southlake Carroll - Friday, September 17 at 7 p.m.

Arlington Martin holds a 2-1 record this season with their only loss coming in their opening game against Lake Travis. Led by senior quarterback Cydd Ford who has 761 passing yards and nine passing touchdowns, the Warriors shouldn't be overlooked as they prepare to face off against the Dragons. Junior running back Michael Zaire Barrow and senior wide receiver Trey Cochran lead the warriors in receiving. Barrow has 13 catches for 217 yards and three touchdowns while Cochran has 19 catches for 284 yards and two touchdowns. Junior running back Javien Toviano is hot on his feet with nearly 190 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries.

Southlake Carroll comes in undefeated on the season with big wins over the likes of Highland Park, Rockwall-Heath, and Prosper. Everyone has seen that junior quarterback Kaden Anderson is the real deal getting the ball through the air while junior running back Owen Allen continues to dominate the rushing game for the Dragons. Allen has six touchdowns and 515 of the Dragon's 582 rushing yards on 63 carries.

Southlake Carroll tends to take everything week-by-week. They always enter a new game ready to roll with any challenges that they may face. Because of that, fans will se a strong outting from both Anderson and Owens as well as the rest of the Dragons' offense. On the other end of things, we will see a strong Southlake Carroll defense put up a battle for Martin's offense.

Denton Guyer vs. Atascocita

Denton Guyer vs. Atascocita - Friday, September 17 at 7 p.m.

Denton Guyer is 3-0 on the season with big wins over Hebron, in-town rival Denton Ryan, and Lake Ridge. The Wildcats are coming off of a big 37-6 win over Lake Ridge last week and looking to continue their streak of great football. Guyer's offense is led by four-star junior quarterback Jackson Arnold who has completed 50% of his passes so far this season wile totalling 523 passing yards, six touchdowns, 103 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown. Guyer is also home to senior wide receiver Grayson O'Bara who has tallied 148 receiving yards and one touchdown on 12 catches while senior running back Byron Philips Jr. has accounted for 126 rushing yards. Aside from the offense, Guyer has seen incredible defense led by UNT commit Vincent Paige and Pitt commit Marquan Pope. Atascocita will definitely have a runfor their money against a heavy hitting defense.

Atascocita is known around the metroplex as the team that traveled to north Texas to do what no one else in the state could do- defeat big bad Allen at their home stadium. Following an incredible victory over Allen, Atascocita and quarterback Gavin Session defeated Klein Oak by another 20+ point game. There's no doubt that Atascocita has what it takes to take on a great team like Guyer, the question lies in whether or not traveling to the DFW area twice in a handful of weeks is going to prove to put too much strain on the team.

This will be a close game. There's no question about it. Denton Guyer is going to do everything they can to hold their own and put up a fight in order to prove all of the nay-sayers wrong on Friday night.

Duncanville vs. DeSoto

Duncanville vs. DeSoto - Friday, September 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Duncanville has entered the chat. After an impromptu bye week, Duncanville is back to action. Don't think that they took the Week 3 mishap as a time to slack off, though. No, fans can expect to see Duncanville show up ready to prove that they are as strong as ever. Although they do have one loss so far on the season, it comes from one of the top football teams in the nation- Mater Dei. Their other game was a big 42-27 defeat over South Oak Cliff. In only two games quarterback Solomon James has completed 67% of his passes while tallying 215 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. James also has two rushing touchdowns to his name. Meanwhile, three-star senior running back Malachi Medlock has 360 rushing yards on 56 carries for two touchdowns. Duncanville has only just begun.

DeSoto probably has the most to prove as they enter Friday with a 2-1 record. The Eagles had a rough start to the season with a big loss to Converse Judson, but bounced back with wins over Arlington Bowie and North Crowley. Quarterback Matt Allen has 577 passing yards and 13 passing touchdowns to his name as well as one rushing touchdown. DeSoto also hosts a duo of rushers and a duo of receivers. Jaden Trawick has 272 rushing yards and one touchdown on 37 carries while Cameron Wright has 215 rushing yards and one touchdown on 41 carries. Mike Murphy has 164 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 12 catches while Johntay Cook II has 137 receiving yards and four touchdowns on nine catches.

This is going to be one of the best games around the metroplex on Friday. A physical match with lots of scoring on both ends. The game is going to come down to the strongest defense.

Rockwall Football Twitter (@rockwalljfndfb)

Rockwall vs. Highland Park - Friday, September 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Each and every time the Rockwall Yellowjackets have stepped onto the field this season they have proved their motto: "Jacket Fight Never Dies!" With quarterback Braedyn Locke in charge, Rockwall is going to have a fun outing against Highland Park. So far on the season, Locke has thrown for over 1,000 yards with 10 passing touchdowns while Noble Johnson has tallied 435 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns on 19 carries. Zach Hernandez has recorded 447 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns on 71 carries. Rockwall's offense and defense have both taken this season by the horns.

Highland Park has had an unusually "off" start to their season. With an opening loss to Southlake Carroll followed by a close win over Flower Mond and a two-score win over Coppell, the Scots have more to prove in Friday's game. Quarterback Brennan Storer holds a 58% pass completion with 547 passing yards, six passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, and 28 carries to his name. Although the Scots are strong in offense with John Rutledge (154 yards, two touchdowns, 12 catches), Jay Cox (130 yards, two touchdowns, eight catches), and Christian Reeves (163 yards, two touchdowns, 35 carries), the defense is going to have to be at the top of their game in order to shut down a Rockwall team that's on anothe level this season.

It will be phyiscal. This is bound to be the best Friday game in the metroplex by far with two teams who bring such a great atmosphere to each of their games. Rockwall fans can expect to see a big game from Locke and his Jackets.
