Noah Kon - Houston Christian

2021 Guard

Kon made a statement comeback after missing action for the past month due to injury. The Mustangs would need a strong performance from the Junior guard to defeat crafty St Thomas Catholic and they got just that. Noah finished the game leading all scores with 21 points, closing out the game with a 12 point fourth quarter. Houston Christian has what it takes to three-peat as state champions. They are well coached, have championships pedigree and have a fierce competitor in Noah to lead them there.

Jaylon Calvin - Bellaire

2021 Guard

Jaylon is a pass first point guard that loves to get his teammates involved. Having a good feel for the game and being efficient has worked to his benefit. Calvin has the quickness to break down the defense and the unselfishness to throw the lob or to hit the open shot. The Cardinals are undefeated in district play and that is partly because of the consistent play of the backcourt play of Jaylon Calvin and Elijah Lawrence.

Ronald Holmes - Northside

2021 Guard

This dual sport athlete is tough! Rarely do you find a two sport athlete that's just as effective on the gridiron right as they are on the hardwood, but Holmes may be the best that we've seen do it since Derrick Griffin (2013 Terry High School). Ronald uses his size and physicality to do what he wants on the basketball court. Standing 6'4 and willing to be more physically dominating than the modern day basketball makes Ronald a force to be reckoned with. He recently had two big performance, 30pts vs Madison and 24 vs Sharpstown, which helped North Side place themselves right where they want to be in district standings.

Jake Arnold - Katy Taylor

2021 Guard

Jake Arnold has been having quite the breakout season. There has only been one other player in Katy ISD that had been able to put up the numbers that Arnold has and to say the least, that is good company to be in. This has been a big growth year for Katy Taylor losing a heavy load of last years seniors but it will pay off next year for sure. Learning to translate big performances to the win column will be next for Jake, but it doesn't take away from what he's been able to do this far. We're looking forward to watching the progression in his summer and senior season.
