His sister Matte was a star softball player at Katy and ULL as well.
Dad, Kalum won 850 games as a high school softball coach... mostly at Katy High (26 years), where he won a pair of State Titles. Mom, Leslie, is the Deputy Superintendent for Katy ISD.
Needless to say, Brooks Haack - at 31 years of age - is built to be a head coach.
Did we mention, Haack was the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at Randle High School, where he helped lead the Lions to a 14-0 season and a Class 5A DII State Title?
VYPE's Matt Malatesta caught up with Haack just after he was named the head man at Memorial High School.
VYPE Campus Clips: Memorial beats Cy Creek to remain second in district
The Memorial Mustangs aren't flashy but they get job done. The 'Stangs beat Cy Creek 17-7 to remain in second in district play with an overall record of 6-2. Sophomore Mason Sanders has emerged as a solid QB1 for Memorial while Carson Zahn is carrying the mail on the ground with over 800 yards on the season.
Next up is Cypress Ridge. Cypress Creek is in a must-win situation next week against Jersey Village to get into the postseason.
