'God must have a plan for me': Acadiana High's 'Lucky' Brooks out to prove existence is no accident

Shortly after his alarm sounds at 6:30 a.m., Jeremiah Brooks is focused on making the rest of his day the best of his day.

No matter what he does, it is vital the Acadiana High senior-to-be running back is productive.

Because Brooks, who goes by his childhood nickname "Lucky," prides himself on living each day as if it was on purpose and is adamant to prove his existence is no accident.

"I was brought into this world for a reason," Brooks said. "God must have a plan for me. He has me here for a reason."

And as Brooks sees it, that reason isn't to underachieve.

"I'm a guy who is passionate about everything that he does," said Brooks, who verbally committed to continue his football career with the Army Black Knights. "No matter what I'm doing, I want to be great at it."
