Welcome back to another ATX/SATX edition of Team of the Week. Each week we take a look at a team from across the San Antonio/Austin area and surrounding areas that impressed us for one reason or another.
This weeks team of the week is the Hyde Park Football Team. The Panthers have had a great start to the 2022-2023 football season. They currently sit at 6-0 on the season ahead of their huge game against Regents this week.
After going a combined 2-26 over the last 3 seasons, the Panthers have already tripled their win total for that this year and seem to have found something under first year head coach, and form UT/NFL kicker, Phil Dawson.
Their best game of the season by far happened last week where they defeated St. Michael's in overtime 27-26 in a thrilling game. The 4th quarter alone was a price of admission and saw a pick six, a blocked field goal, a touchdown by Hyde Park what was a throw away pass and the Panthers stopping St. Michael's on a 2 point attempt in overtime to win the game. With 4 games left Hyde Park looks poised for a potential playoff berth.
Congratulations to Hyde Park on the season so far and good luck the rest of the season. The Panthers take on Regents Friday at 7PM at Regents High School.
