District Wrap-Up: Rockwall Lady Yellowjackets

Wrapping up a hard-fought regular season schedule, the Rockwall Lady Yellowjackets are gearing up for their final game in their district schedule-- a battle against Tyler Legacy on Tuesday, February 6 in Tyler. As they prep for their matchup, VYPE DFW takes a look at their season so far!

Non-District Play

Through non-district play, Rockwall was able to set the tone for their season. Posting several big wins over the likes of Prosper Rock Hill, McKinney High, Frisco Centennial, Frisco Reedy, Midlothian, Mansfield Legacy, and more. Powering through tough moments and learning from every battle, the Lady Yellowjackets finished non-district play with a 14-7 record before entering district play.

District Play

Despite posting a handful of losses in their district schedule, Rockwall has recorded victories that have drawn attention to their program. Defeating Mesquite Horn, Beaumont United, Nacogdoches, Richardson, North Forney, Tyler Legacy, Rockwall-Heath, and Mesquite, the team has racked up a 7-4 district record; finding themselves in the second place spot in their district standings-- just behind Royse City.

Looking Ahead

Last season, the team went two rounds deep into the playoffs before falling to DeSoto. This season, their intention this season is to go further. The team has been able to build up their strength and stamina on the court during games and practice; securing their ability to showcase their power over their opponents.

Made up of talented athletes like Aubreyanna Yelverton, Nhira Iverson, Allyson Otis, Mack Lindigrin, Liz Laurence, Bri'kayla Person, Nicole Aguirre, and others, Rockwall can be expected to finish their district schedule on a high and begin their prep work for the playoffs. Fans can expect the Lady Yellowjackets to continue strong with the potential for a deep playoff run.
