RECRUIT SCOOP: Atascocita's Trenton Blaylock has schools emerging towards the top ahead of official visits
2027 Atascocita cornerback Trenton Blaylock dropped his top eight schools earlier this off-season on April 10th.
The three-star cornerback's top eight schools consist of Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Oklahoma, TCU, Tennessee, Texas and Vanderbilt.
With his official visits starting up at the end of this month, Blaylock mentioned five schools have emerged amongst the eight as the leaders going into his visits.
"I honestly have a top five right now because I have official visits with Vanderbilt, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida State and working on setting up one with LSU," Blaylock said. "Those are the five schools that have been recruiting me the most as of right now and the ones I'm really focusing on."
BREAKING DOWN EACH SCHOOL
OKLAHOMA
The Sooners have strong ties with Blaylock as his brother Tory was a standout freshman running back for Oklahoma in 2025 and has known the staff since his freshman year.
"I have a great relationship with the whole staff because I've been there so many times and built relationships with them a few years ago," he said. "Coach Morgan and I have been building a relationship over the past month and he seems like a really good person and I like what he stands for. I like where I'm at with them right now."
TEXAS
Texas cornerback coach Mark Orphey was out at Atascocita last week to see Blaylock during the Eagles spring practice and Blaylock is excited to get to know the players there on his official visit.
"I love coach Orphey, we have a really good relationship and talk all the time. This was his second time coming down to see me so it was great seeing how interested he is in me and taking the time to come down and see me," Blaylock said. "On my official visit I really want to talk with the players and get their perspective of Texas."
ALABAMA
The development to the next level is a big factor on why the Crimson Tide are amongst the top of Blaylock's recruitment.
"I honestly like the long line of talent they have produced to the next level," he said. "I really like them a lot because I know what they can do with me there with the talent they've produced."
LSU
LSU jumped in Blaylock's recruitment late this off-season but legendary Tigers defensive back coach Corey Raymond has LSU already towards the top of his recruitment and wanting to lock in an official visit.
"Coach Raymond is the best corner coach there is in my opinion and being able to be coached by him would be an honor," Blaylock said. "I just have to get up there and see what it's like with the rest of the coaches. I haven't met Lane Kiffin yet so I really just want to see what kind of coach he is and get to know coach Raymond more."
VANDERBILT
Vanderbilt is coming off a big season in 2025 in which the Commodores finished with a 10-3 record and No. 15 ranking. The family culture between the coaching staff and the players has Vanderbilt a contender for the Atascocita corner.
"I really like their culture. Their culture from the players to the coaches is amazing," he said. "I feel like being apart of that would be really good and have my OV there May 28th so I'm excited to get up there. I have a great relationship with the coaches there and like what Coach Lea stands for so that's what I like about them."
Blaylock will have a busy next month and a half full of OV's and stay tuned here on VYPE for an update on his recruitment following his official visits.
