Granbury Standout Ella Hamlin joins TCU Horned Frogs Squad

After a series of injuries left the TCU women's basketball team with only six players able to play, the Horned Frogs found themselves having to forfeit games. Sending out an invite for open tryouts for current TCU students, the Horned Frogs soon found out that they had several diamonds blending into the crowd on campus; among them was none other than former Granbury standout Ella Hamlin.

Joining the open tryouts, Hamlin quickly stood out as a favorite to join the Horned Frogs squad. The freshman, a graduate from Granbury, Texas, was selected to join the team and will get the opportunity to play for TCU against Texas Tech on Saturday, January 27th in Lubbock.

Hamlin was a standout at Granbury where she played in the Pirates' varsity program for four seasons. Earning multiple honors including being named the district Offensive Player of the Year during back-to-back seasons (2022, 2023) and two-time All-District First Team honors (2022, 2023), Hamlin racked up more than 1,500 career points and posted a career-high of 42 points against Lovelady high school her senior season while averaging 18 points per game.

Hamlin took to social media to share her excitement about the opportunity to join the Horned Frogs' squad:
