Dragons Are Invitational Tournament Champs

The John Cooper School took home the Christian Homeschool Sports Ministries invitation tournament title over the weekend.

The Dragons swept through group play with straight set victories against CSHA, Frassati and The Village School, moving them to the Gold Bracket.

In the Gold Bracket, the Dragons won tough matches against Alpha Omega, 25-10 and 25-18, and PT Warriors, 25-18 and 25-12, to advance to the championship.

The Dragons faced off with Frassati again, taking the championship in straight sets, 25-16 and 25-15.

"We played great offensively, defensively and most importantly we displayed great effort and teamwork," Coach Ray Hedden said.

In the tournament, Laura Weatherford led the team with 92 digs, while AJ Harrell led the team with 47 kills.
