VYPE U: The new way to celebrate

For athletes and students everywhere, it has been a hard time to be out of school due to the virus. All of the practices, games, and bonding time that was taken away from all the teams will never be gained back. Especially for the class of 2020 seniors who will not being going back next year. This was a chance for the athletes to shine one last time together before they all go their separate ways off to college. As a senior myself, it's hard to believe we may never walk through the halls of our school again.

But during this time of stress, adults and kids have stepped up to show their bonds have never been stronger than during this time of isolation.

Take my friend for example. Her 18th Birthday was supposed to be a time for her to celebrate becoming an adult. She didn't get the chance to do that due to the restrictions the coronavirus has brought upon us.

Because she can't have a birthday party or go anywhere special, her sister and friends had a brilliant idea. They had everyone close to her drive by in their cars all decorated with balloons and streamers, and they all honked their horns as they passed her house. She was so thankful for all her friends that did this for her and was definitely caught off guard.

"I had no idea and was so surprised. Even though I couldn't have a celebration, I will never forget this birthday," Lexie Bice said.

This story shows we can all make the most of this difficult situation.
