INSTANT REACTION: Red Oak Survives Braswell's Comeback Bid

ARLINGTON - It almost happened again, but the Red Oak defense stepped up with it needed it most. Donovan Jemerson intercepted a 4th down pass from Braswell's Greyson Thompson for the second time to thwart any miraculous comeback from happening at JerryWorld.

At the half, Red Oak led 28-7 and looked to be in complete control. Then Braswell woke up and made a game of it, holding Red Oak to 93 yards of offense in the second half.

With the score 35-28, Braswell was driving and in the Red Oak redzone after a 62-yard catch and run by Jacob Hernandez. Two plays later, Jemerson stepped in front of a slant pass to seemingly put an end to the comeback and game.

Wrong. Jemerson was down at the 1 foot line for Red Oak.

On the next play, Braswell stuffed C.J. Palmer's run attempt in the endzone for the safety to make it 35-30 - getting the ball back on the free kick.

With two timeouts in its pocket, Braswell was set up on its own 14 with 70 seconds left to pull off the win. Except it had to burn a timeout before the drive started. Then it ran a screen pass for a yard and two plays later, Jemerson did it again and this time, actually sealed the win.
