A Look Back

Gunter has had one of their best seasons yet. Going 36-1 overall with an undefeated district record (14-0), the Tigers have been poised and focused from the start. With big victories and timely plays, Gunter has been on track to get to this point all season. The team has outscored their opponents by a combined 255 runs this season and is looking to continue to widen that gap as they go for their first state title since 1998.

Who To Watch

With six batters batting .300 or better, the team is strong at the plate. Led by sophomore Cade Dawson who boasts a .515 batting average, the team will be ready to hit hard out the gate. Mason Saddler (.330), Riekkhen Bostick (.320), Colson Woods (.357), Trey Oblas (.480), and more can be expected to have big games at the plate as well. Defensively speaking, Bostick has gone 14-0 from the bump this season while Isaac Vilanueva has gone 13-1.

What To Expect:

The team is ready for this moment. Although Corpus Christi London (24-13) is a tough opponent, fans can expect to see Gunter make it to the biggest stage. The focus and drive that the Tigers play with is unmatchable and will get them to the next level. With timely plays and big hitting combined with quick base running, expect to see the Tigers put a stop to C.C. London's attacks.

The game is expected to begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 10 at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas.
