BREAKING: 2028 Four-Star and No. 1 RB in the class of 2028 Micah Rhodes commits to OU
2028 Klein Oak (TX) four-star and number one running back in the Class of 2028, Micah Rhodes, has announced his commitment to Oklahoma.
Rhodes dropped a Top 3 consisting of Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma back on January 12th and now has decided that to call Norman his future home.
"I've taken my time with the process and after praying about it and talking with my family I felt like it was time and Oklahoma was the right fit for me," Rhodes said on committing to OU. "They have believed in me from the start and they made me feel like a priority, not only as a player but as a person as well. I know that when I go to OU I'll be able to grow on and off the field and that's all I want."
One of the biggest factors in Rhodes decision to commit to Oklahoma was his relationship with current Sooners running back coach Demarco Murray and the fact that Murray played for OU and at the NFL level.
"Coach Murray and I's relationship is really strong. He has been there for me since the eighth grade and pushed me to be my best self. I've always wanted to be coached by an NFL running back and I know going to play for him he is going to get me where I want to be," Rhodes said. "Also our relationship is bigger than football and that's why I chose him over everybody else."
Rhodes is now Oklahoma's first commitment in the 2028 class and the top running back in the country plans on doing his part in recruiting for the Sooners 2028 class.
"Committing early was a big deal for me because now I can go and recruit other guys to join me in this class and bring some more National Championships back to Norman."
The talented Klein Oak star still has two years of high school football left but before he turns his focus back to the off-season, Rhodes had one last message for Sooners fans.
"Y'all are going to get a dog out of me and once I get there I'm coming to change the game."
