Regional Finals PREVIEW: Argyle and Stephenville go head-to-head

The Argyle Eagles and the Stephenville Yellowjackets are preparing to go head-to-head in the Texas High School Regional Finals after a hard-fought season so far. Both teams have been able to shut down their opponents while remaining calm in the face of hurdles. VYPE DFW takes a look at the teams and lays out what fans can expect in this week's series.

Argyle Eagles Baseball (32-3-1, 12-0)

Last week, the Argyle Eagles took on a strong Canyon team. Through two games, the Eagles allowed only two runs against them defeating Canyon 3-2 in game one and 7-0 in game two. Coming into the Regional Finals on a 10 game winning streak, Argyle has had no problem putting their bats to work against even the toughest defenses.

Argyle has played strong through postseason play. The Eagles have allowed only nine runs combined while scoring 47 of their own. With the ability of great ball placement paired with aggressive fielding, fans can expect Argyle to continue to fight.

Stephenville Yellowjackets (22-7, 9-3)

Stephenville has had a hard-fought season. The team finished at the top of their district with a 9-3 district record after defeating Brownwood, Gatesville, Glen Rose, and more. The Yellowjackets have been able to play hard against their opponents all season long and look to continue their streak of strong defense against even Argyle.

So far in playoffs, Stephenville has defeated Burkburnett (4-0, 13-0), Decatur (17-0), Iowa Park (game one loss 7-4, came back to win the series 8-4, 8-6), and Snyder (6-2, 12-8). Stephenville has allowed 47 runs during playoffs while scoring 72 runs of their own.
