VYPE 411: Alex Diaz of Second Baptist School Baseball

Alex Diaz recently won the VYPE Houston Private School Baseball Player of the Year Fan Poll! VYPE caught up with Diaz for the 411 on the star from Second Baptist School.

VYPE: How long have you been playing baseball and how did you get your start?

Diaz: I started playing baseball when I was around 3 or 4 years old and my father really helped me fall in love with the game of baseball.

VYPE: Who's your favorite athlete and why?

Diaz: My favorite athlete is Lionel Messi. He is my favorite because he shows that it doesn't matter how big you are or what your situation is as long as you set your mind on your goals you can accomplish anything.

VYPE: Go-to pregame meal? Routine?

Diaz: I like to eat fruits and hydrate a lot before games. Routines that I do before games is I like to go through a series of blocking and receiving drills to get ready for the game behind the plate.

VYPE: Off the field, what is your favorite thing to do?

Diaz: Off the field, I love to go out and spend time with my friends. I also like to watch sports events especially baseball and UFC.

VYPE: In all of your years of playing baseball, what is the one memory you'll never forget?

Diaz: The one memory I'll never forget from baseball is our walk off win against LSA at our Spring Swing game at SBS.
