This was a historic year for Goose Creek Memorial boys' basketball! It was that break-through-the-glass-ceiling type year for the Patriots.
The Patriots reached the Regional Semifinals for the first time in program history led by District 22-5A Defensive Player of the Year Sam Bradford. The junior led the team with 18.1 points and 11.2 rebounds per game.
Baytown Sterling finished sixth in district going 7-14 (6-11) and Baytown Lee took seventh.

The Dawson Eagles have valuable experience
9 — PEARLAND DAWSON EAGLES
Dawson reached the Area Round of the playoffs a year ago as the Eagles posted a 26-10 overall record.
Four starters return for fourth-year coach Sharee Griffin (57-47), including Tarleton State University-commit Jaylynn Perez-Richard.
Other key returners include two-time first-team, all-district pick Kendall Ford and second-team, all-district picks Mia Barre and Jaycee Ingram. A final name to watch will be junior Journey Lovett.
The motto #NotSatisfied will be what Griffin hopes carries this squad past the second round of the postseason in 2025.

All Charged Up is Fulshear
10 — FULSHEAR CHARGERS
Fulshear is going to be a team to reckon with in 2024-25 in Class 6A.
The Chargers return four starters off a team that went 25-8 a year ago, including University of Pennsylvania-commit Ruke Ogbevire. The senior averaged 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals per game on the way to a first-team, all-district selection. Ogbevire was also the District co-Offensive Player of the Year and named to the TABC All-Region 3 Team.
Augustana College-commit Sophia Semmler averaged 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals per game as a junior. Others to watch include Kinzie Searcy (Henderson State-commit, 7 ppg, 2rpg, 1 apg, 1 spg), Campbell Hill (6 ppg, 3 rpg, 1 apg, 1 spg), Pfeiffer Greene, Tyler Swan and Amariah Cunningham.
Keys to success for second-year coach Justin Jones’ squad include connectivity and defense as they look to “Protect The Team” in 2025.
