Lots of movement after a huge slate of games in the Bayou City during Week 2.
The undisputed No. 1? Katy smashed Atascocita 56-14, looking ferocious again. Cy-Fair bumps up to No. 3, while Tompkins, Klein Oak and Pearland continue to look impressive.
Dickinson and Cy Ranch lost to out-of-state powers Allen and Converse Judson. Travis flexed against Class 5A power Foster, while Tomball Memorial is rolling with an impressive offense.
Dobie, College Park and Bush have joined the conversation in Class 6A. In Class 5A, Magnolia took a tumble after getting rolled by Shadow Creek.
Say hello to Baytown Lee and Lamar Consolidated to the rankings.
Shadow Creek wide receiver Jaylen Addai is the No. 1-ranked player in Texas in the Class of 2028.
Think about that for a second.
In a state where high school football is king and blue-chip prospects seem to emerge every Friday night, Addai sits at the top of the mountain.
But don't expect the ranking to change who he is. He understands the attention. He also understands the assumptions that come with carrying one of football's most recognizable last names.
His father, Joseph Addai, starred at Sharpstown High School before winning a national championship at LSU, becoming a first-round NFL Draft pick and later earning a Super Bowl ring with the Indianapolis Colts.
Many people assume that kind of pedigree makes the journey easier. Addai says it's been quite the opposite.
"I know people think everything is given to me," he said. "That I don't have to work hard because of who my dad is. But it's actually the opposite."
When the rankings were released, he allowed himself a moment to appreciate the accomplishment. Then it was back to work.
"I was really excited," he said. "But they (rankings) really don't mean that much to me."
His perspective comes from watching players who weren't labeled as can't-miss prospects.
"One of my favorite players is Justin Jefferson," Addai said. "He was a three-star recruit and wasn't heavily recruited. He was amazing at LSU and now he's the best in the NFL. There are so many players like that."
That mentality has fueled one of the busiest calendars of any athlete in Texas.
Over the past eight months, Addai has barely had time to catch his breath. Football season transitioned into basketball season, where he helped lead Shadow Creek alongside standout BJ LaFell during a memorable run. From there, it was straight into football workouts, recruiting camps and earning recognition as the state's top prospect before heading back to the AAU basketball circuit.
There is hardly an offseason. And that's exactly how he likes it.
"I think college coaches like dual-sport athletes," he said. "But I really want an opportunity to play both sports in college."
As he prepares for his junior season, the expectations have never been higher. Every opponent knows his name. Every defense will have a plan to slow him down. The biggest expectations, however, come from within.
"I want to double my stats and do anything I can to help my team," he said with a smile. "I'm just so excited to get back out there with my brothers and perform."

For Addai, this is exactly where he dreamed of being.
"This is where I wanted to be ever since I was a little kid," he said. "I just need to remember to have fun. When it's not fun... it's over."
The rankings may say he's the best player in Texas.
Jaylen Addai is far more interested in becoming the best version of himself.
Another defining quality that separates Alvin Mosley from other elite wideouts is the unmatched swagger he brings to everything he does. Whether he’s making acrobatic catches for the Almeta Crawford highlight reel or displaying his distinct personal style away from the game, Mosley commands attention wherever he goes.
“I feel like I’ve been building a great brand,” Mosley said. “That started with Twitter (X) back in eighth grade, creating my own profile and posting clips of me and all the crazy stuff I’ve done when I compete. I’ve been doing a lot.”
It didn’t take long for people to take notice. Mosley’s Instagram account, “@alvinkuttinup,” offers a glimpse into the viral moments that have helped build his following. Still, social media doesn’t fully capture the personality fans and teammates experience in person.
“The Instagram name really just means ‘Alvin cutting up on the field,’ for real,” Mosley said with a laugh. “That’s literally what it stands for. I’m a really cool guy behind the football helmet, and I enjoy what I do, so I think everybody feeds off that.”
On the turf, Mosley put his game-breaking ability on full display, hauling in more than 1,100 receiving yards, adding another 200 on the ground, and contributing nearly 400 yards in the return game. All told, he accounted for 30 total touchdowns en route to District 12-4A Division I MVP honors.
He then traded his cleats for sneakers, helping lead Almeta Crawford basketball to the UIL State Championship game this past March — the first State appearance for any program in Crawford High history, which began in 2023. Mosley added another District MVP honor to his résumé — this time in basketball — before the Chargers transitioned to Class 5A ahead of his senior season.
Accolades already paint a vivid picture of the four-star talent’s rare athleticism. Still, Mosley’s game extends beyond the numbers and recognition that helped pave the way to his commitment to Ole Miss in June.
“Physicality is something that can be lost for some receivers,” he said. “Definitely moving fast every play is important, but so is blocking. A lot of receivers don’t want to block. They just want to catch the ball and go score. But I’m gonna go block somebody. That’s what separates you as a player.”

Teamwise, Crawford looks to maintain its upward trend, coming off a 2025 season that saw the Chargers produce a 12-2 record and advance four rounds into the 4A Division I postseason bracket. Moving up to 5A in the UIL realignment only amplifies the spotlight surrounding the program — something Mosley understands firsthand.
“I really think living up to it is more challenging, for real,” Mosley said. “Everybody has high expectations every time they see you, so you have to keep playing at that level you’ve created for yourself.”
For Mosley, the answer isn’t found in the attention or recognition — it starts much closer to home.
“Definitely my little brothers and everybody in my family’s household,” Mosley said. “I do it for them because they’re the reason I’m in this position — the reason I have cleats, the reason I have everything. So I’m going to repay that by doing my best to be known as one of the greatest to ever do it from Houston.”
