Guyer Loaded with Talent Galore in 2019
With a whopping 17 starters returning to the sidelines for coach Josh Walsh, Denton Guyer might be the most experienced team in all of Texas high school football this year. Add to that 41 returning lettermen, and Guyer should easily surpass its 6-6 record from a year ago. Dual-threat quarterback and four-star Texas A&M pledge Eli Stowers will be a force to reckon with along with his backfield cohort, running back Kaedric Cobbs.
It's Year 2 for Riley Dodge as the Southlake Carroll head coach after an impressive 13-1 record his first year and making the regional finals. Two-way starter RJ Mickens will carry a big burden on his shoulders in 2019 in leading Southlake back to the playoffs. If any program can see half of its team graduate and still be successful, it would definitely be Southlake Carroll.
Keller has eight starters back from a very solid 8-3 campaign last year. Coach Carl Stralow will have to replace eight starters alone on offense, but running back Enoch Ntchobo is back to carry the load for the Indians. With an inexperienced line, keeping the new quarterback Hayden Anderson upright and providing running lanes will be key for Keller's success in 2019.
After a subpar 6-5 season a year ago, Keller Fossil Ridge will have to rely on its 35 lettermen returning to prop the program back up a bit. Coach Tony Baccarini has 11 starters back from a year ago so there shouldn't too much of a drop off, if any, for the Panthers in 2019.
