VYPE SETX Can't Miss Kid - Khristian Curtis, PNG Baseball

VYPE caught up with Khristian Curtis, rated as the #48 Texas Prospect by Prep Baseball Report and member of the Port Neches-Groves baseball team, for a quick Q&A.

...

VYPE: What are your personal goals for this season?

Curtis: Every year we as a team come in with the mind set to improve our level of play from the pervious year.

VYPE: Describe the most disappointing event of your athletic career?

Curtis: Losing in the 3rd round of the playoffs to a rival in our district.

VYPE: What was the most fulfilling moment of your athletic career?

Curtis: Signing with Texas A&M to play baseball is my most fulfilling moment of my athletic career.

VYPE: What makes baseball such a great game in your opinion?

Curtis: It's a game of strategy. As a pitcher, you have to be prepared to work the batter and force him to be anxious and not let him know what is coming. I love being involved in controlling the game. Working with my catcher to attempt to move the game in our direction is exciting and fulfilling to me. I love striking a batter out, but I love the feeling of accomplishment when I throw a pitch forcing a batter to roll over and it sets up a double play opportunity. Same goes when I'm playing short stop. I love being able to flip a ball to 2nd or 3rd to take two runners out at once.

VYPE: What do you want to accomplish on/off the field at the next level?

Curtis: Obviously the main goal or desire is to make it to the MLB. God has blessed me with a great opportunity to play baseball in the SEC as an Aggie, but beyond that, my dream is to make it to the big show someday. I think every kid who plays baseball dreams of that, whether they're playing in their backyard or neighborhood pick up games, Little League or select ball. I strive to be a positive role model and know that kids look up to me, and I want to be in a position to make them, my family and most importantly God proud of me and who he's made me to be.
