At the 6A level, Southlake Carroll and Allen continue to dominate their respective districts, each sitting at 5-0 following emphatic blowout wins. While Allen heads into a bye, Carroll prepares for a key home test against a Keller squad with playoff ambitions.
Prosper, another unbeaten giant in 6A, handled a talented Plano East team and now turns its focus to Rock Hill as it continues a quietly consistent campaign.
Elsewhere, DeSoto made the biggest statement of Week 5, halting Waxahachie’s perfect run in dominant fashion. The Eagles, now 3-2, have overcome early-season challenges and seem to be hitting stride as they approach their bye — just in time for a massive district clash with Duncanville looming after the break.
In 5A, the anticipated Aledo–Denton Ryan matchup is finally here. Both programs remain undefeated after lopsided victories and now face off in what could serve as a preview of deeper playoff rounds.
Lone Star and Highland Park also remain firmly in the mix, the latter surviving a 70–66 thriller against Tyler to stay atop its district.
Meanwhile, Celina continues to carry the 4A flag with a 5-0 record, having edged Panther Creek last week. The Bobcats travel to Aubrey this Friday looking to remain perfect.
With rankings beginning to crystallize, Week 6 offers both clarity and chaos — with heavyweight clashes and district implications unfolding across every level.
