Signing Day Feature presented by T-Mobile: Cy Creek's Josh White

HOUSTON - At the three and a half years old, Josh White discovered he wanted to play football.

From that moment, his mother, Tammy Demas, did everything she could, including working two jobs at one point, to help pay for cleats, mouthpieces and training to help him reach his goal.

Nearly 15 years later, that has paid off.

On Wednesday, Tammy sat on the front row of the bleachers inside Cypress Creek High School's gymnasium as Josh signed his National Letter of Intent to play football at LSU.

"She's meant so much to me," White said. "She worked two jobs to keep a roof over my head. I'll never forget in Little League she worked two jobs just to get me the equipment I needed. Mouthpieces, cleats, all that. She never said she couldn't do that for me. She just went out and worked for it and got it for me.

"I'm going to do the same thing for her."

After a few coaches spoke, it was Josh's turn.

During his speech he thanked his coaches and teachers and then he looked right at his mother and thanked her for all she had done for him.

"It meant a lot that I survived for him and that he can reach his goal," Tammy said. "He showed me this is what he wanted to do in life, so I had to go and do what I had to do. Pay for training and stuff so that he can be successful."
