PEAK ALTITUDE: With Humphries and Patton surging, the sky is the limit for No. 4 Cy Falls

No. 4 -- CYPRESS FALLS GOLDEN EAGLES
Cypress Falls isn’t far removed from its 2023 Regional Tournament run — or the 2017 season that brought home a UIL 6A State title.
Replicating that level of success is no small feat, but under head coach Richard Flores, the Golden Eagles continue to trend upward. After placing second in District 17-6A and advancing to the Area Round last winter, Cy Falls arguably has several more pieces in place to return to championship form.
Sophomore standout Jeremiah “JD” Humphries headlines the group once again. The 6-foot-4 guard is coming off a breakout freshman season that earned him 17-6A Newcomer of the Year honors — and his growing recruiting profile, with offers from Cal, SMU, and Western Kentucky, reflects his rising stock.

Joining him is senior forward Daniel Patton, a 6-foot-7 transfer from Tennessee’s Centennial High School who should make an immediate impact in the frontcourt, before ultimately landing on a college commitment.
Factor in junior point guard James Stackhouse (first-team, all-district), sophomore guard Teron Watts Jr. (honorable mention), and junior guard Michale Price, and the Eagles boast a well-rounded rotation capable of turning potential into results.
