C.E. King pieced together a solid campaign in 2024, going 29-7 overall and advancing to the Regional Quarterfinals.
The Panthers fell just short of a Regional Tournament berth, falling 43-41 to Pearland. Key returners heading into 2025 include second-team, all-district pick DeAvion Wilson, who is a New Mexico State-commit.
Others to watch include honorable-mention selections Jazzlyn Robertson, Aniya Cooper and Ariele Alford. Wilson was named to the TGCAAll-Star team at season’s end as well. A player to watch this season at C.E. King will be incoming freshman Skylar Conway, who could be a Houston phenom for years to come.
After graduating a solid senior class, it is time for the next wave of Panthers to leave their mark.
The Spartans are coming off a Regional Semifinals appearance last season after going 30-9 overall.
Doug Watson enters his second season at the helm of the program and returns one starter to the huddle. District 19-6A Defensive Player of the Year Madison Carlton is back after averaging 16.6 points, 11.4 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game.
Another player to watch is Dulce Franco, who was a second-team, all-district selection, after averaging 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. Keys to success for Seven Lakes includes playing good defense, getting turnovers and converting transition points.
