The departures of staples such as Halle Thompson (Wisconsin) and Cali Reece (Houston) may give some reason to question a potential drop-off. However, Rogers’ roster remains too deep to overlook the emergence of the next wave at Grand Oaks.
Outside hitters Kate Bull and Mia Owens (Mercer commit) will headline Grand Oaks’ new-look attacking front. Bull, now a junior, received all-district honorable mention while registering just over 200 kills and 170 serve receptions, while senior Owens earned second-team honors, contributing 112 kills and 37 blocks. Both will be expected to assume larger roles alongside senior middle Peyton Wiley, another honorable mention selection who led the team with 49 blocks.
Seniors Taylor Jennings and Adalynn Smith provide additional veteran presence on offense, along with sophomore Reese Baillio, while junior setter Lauren Duarte steps in to help orchestrate the team’s efforts.

The majority of SCHS’s firepower is back and healthy, making it entirely reasonable to believe the Lady Sharks can match their historic 2024 run to the Region III Final—and perhaps surpass it.
Outside hitter Tamarria Mitchell, now committed to Florida A&M, starred during her junior chapter with over 450 kills, nearly 600 serve receptions, and 350 digs, securing District 22-6A Offensive Player of the Year honors. Colorado commit Aspen Brown—among those injured last fall—brings an equal scoring punch on the opposite pin, alongside first-team all-district selection Kennedy Proctor (Sr. MB/OH), who surpassed 300 kills.
Then, sophomores Avarie Alexander (second-team) and Olivia Law (honorable mention) add valuable production to an offensive rotation that could help lead Shadow Creek back to a district title—and beyond.
