VYPE Media visits Aldine MacArthur High School this week as we bring in Generals head baseball coach Ernest Gonzalez as Coach discusses the success of the program in the 2019 season.
Elsewhere in Class 6A, Johnson (8-0) has all but locked up its third consecutive district title, while Steele (7-1-1) has already mathematically clinched its sixth straight crown.
Class 5A boasts similar distinction, with Smithson Valley (9-0) entering the playoffs undefeated and celebrating back-to-back district championships. Boerne (9-0) is on the verge of matching that feat.
Tivy (8-1), meanwhile, slips slightly in the rankings after suffering its first defeat of the season, falling to Canyon Lake, 53-50, in a high-scoring thriller.
Week 11 now offers one final opportunity to settle unfinished business before the postseason takes center stage.

Elsewhere in Class 6A, Allen, North Crowley, Lewisville, Southlake Carroll, and Martin have all but locked up district championships, each entering Week 11 unbeaten in league play.
A similar picture is taking shape in Class 5A, where DeSoto, Argyle, Anna, Lone Star, and Timberview have established themselves as the clear frontrunners for their respective titles.
Anna, in particular, delivered arguably the week’s most consequential victory, edging fierce rival Celina, 35-28, to preserve its perfect 9-0 record.
With that, let’s see how the overall hierarchy stacks up entering Week 11.

** Lewisville forfeited its first three non-district victories following a District 5-6A Executive Committee ruling involving an ineligible player. However, QB Laykon Brassfield won his appeal before the UIL State Executive Committee on October 22, clearing him to play against Flower Mound on October 23. It remains unclear whether the Wildcats’ previously forfeited wins will be reinstated.
