LOVB Spotlight: Cook secures Career Assist No. 3000 for Stratford prior to ensuing district slate

Stratford’s early season schedule has tested the team’s resilience, confronting them with a lineup of some of the area’s strongest volleyball programs — as well as premier clubs from California and Hawaii.

Navigating this challenging terrain has not only sharpened their competitive edge but also provided invaluable experience ahead of district play.

Amid this backdrop, senior setter Audrey Cook (GCU-commit) quietly etched her name into Stratford’s record books, surpassing the 3,000-assist mark during this past weekend’s Clear Creek ISD Tournament.

Her steady hand and tactical acumen were instrumental as the Spartans secured a hard-fought third-place finish, including notable wins against The Woodlands and Atascocita.

Cook’s standout performance earned her a spot on the All-Tournament team, a fitting recognition for a player who has been a cornerstone of the Spartans’ offense throughout her high school career.

While Stratford’s 11-12 record might not immediately impress, it belies the strength of their early opponents and the intentional challenges set by head coach Jenny Adcock.

Historically, Stratford has been a force within their district, and with the season progressing, the team looks primed to regain its foothold as a UIL title contender.

Supporting Cook’s leadership are key contributors like Gwen Koss (Providence College-commit) and Milena Miladinovic (Jr. MH), among others. Together, they form a balanced and dynamic squad focused on reminding audiences what they’re capable of.
