The Town Talk Quick Thoughts: Week 1 full of competitive games

The start of a new season.

Although everyone dreams to be 1-0, getting there can sometimes be tough as everyone wants to start the season on the right foot.

There were many competitive games this week in the Central Louisiana landscape as teams looked to avoid an 0-1 start.

Here's what I thought was interesting during Week 1 of the football season

For the second straight season, Alexandria Senior High got a tough test from Ferriday in the season opener and once again survived to start the season at 1-0 after a 35-22 victory. The Trojans had a big game from Chris Gray, who rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns, including a game-clinching 67-yard rumble with 1:48 remaining in the game. Ferriday quarterback Kobe Dillon showed how good he was by accounting for 215 of its 333 yards, but when the game mattered most, the ASH defense dug deep to secure the win.
