PREP FOOTBALL PREVIEW: Local squads carry momentum into Week 4

Give it up for our local football programs.

Over the past two weeks, the nine teams in The Times' coverage area have compiled a 12-6 record — that includes a county vs. county clash — and all but two of those squads have garnered at least one region win during that stretch.

Let's hope that momentum carries over into a tough Week 4 slate.

Before we begin, though, remember to cast your vote in "The People's Pick," a series of Twitter polls posted on my timeline (@winfreyjake) each and every Monday afternoon.

It's time to make predictions, which I've been very bad at this season.

Class 2A, Region 5

Aliceville (2-1, 2-0) at Cold Springs (3-1, 2-0): This will be a tough one for the Eagles.

The No. 8 Yellow Jackets have crushed Sulligent (43-6) and Tarrant (29-0) over the past two weeks, and their only loss so far this season came to 3A No. 3 Gordo (21-20) in overtime.
