VYPE Class 6A Football Rankings: Oak, Clear Springs; Cy Park break into Rankings

Matt Malatesta

National recruit Harold Perkins leads Cy Park into the VYPE Rankings

It was a weekend full of interesting games.

So, what happened you ask?

The biggest upset was Katy Tompkins blanking No. 4 Katy Taylor 28-0 to remain undefeated.

Bridgeland is now the king of Cy-Fair ISD with an easy win over Cypress Ranch. Cy-Fair is lurking in the other CFISD district, however, and they do play each other.

Tomball Memorial continues to break scoreboards hanging 64 this weekend over Klein Cain. Staying in Klein... Oak slammed Klein Collins to move into the rankings. Shadow Creek got its first-ever Class 6A win over Stake Jesuit.

Welcome to the rankings Clear Springs and Cy Park. It's the first time ever Cy Park has been ranked in its short history.

College Park takes down The Woodlands in instant classic

In the VYPE Game of the Week, College Park all but secured its district crown with a statement win over The Woodlands—a program that had long dominated the crosstown rivalry.

Under coach Kyle Coats, the Cavaliers have emerged as one of the most complete teams in Greater Houston. With dynamic playmakers on the perimeter, steady quarterback play, and a disciplined defense, College Park is proving it belongs in the conversation among the region’s best. The small 6A program has become a legitimate postseason threat.

THE RANKINGS: CE King; Memorial put H-Town on ALERT

The Memorial Mustangs are getting interesting

The question around Houston high school football right now: Is CE King the next powerhouse in the region?

The now-No. 3 Panthers made a major statement last Thursday, taking down then-No. 2 Summer Creek in convincing fashion. With that win, CE King has positioned itself as the front-runner in what many consider the toughest district in the state—but a looming matchup with North Shore will ultimately reveal how high this program can climb.
