MOVING ON UP: No. 18 Foster Ready Class 6A ball
NO. 18 -- FOSTER FALCONS
Head Coach: Morgan Hunter
2023: 31-11/Area Finalists
THE FOSTER FALCONS HAVE BEEN A MAINSTAY IN THE UIL VOLLEYBALL PLAYOFFS OVER THE YEARS.
Entering 2024, the Falcons are seeking a 16th-straight trip as they make their debut in Class 6A.
Last year, Foster went 31-11 overall and reached the Area Round. Reigning District 20-5A Newcomer of the Year Reagan Knipling is one of five starters returning to the nest.
Others to watch include pin hitters Brooke Barnes and Emeron Lechler. Both earned all-district honors.
Keys to success for 13th-year Foster coach Morgan Hunter include, “ball control, running a fast offense and learning to gel as a new team with a large graduating class”.

FLY EAGLES, FLY: Morrow is the future of No. 19 Atascocita
NO. 19 -- ATASCOCITA EAGLES
Head Coach: Madeline Odom
2023: 29-11/Regional Quarterfinalists
ATASCOCITA ENTERS THIS FALL ON THE HEELS OF CLAIMING THEIR SECOND DISTRICT TITLE IN THE PAST THREE YEARS LAST SEASON, THIS TIME IN UNDEFEATED (14-0) FASHION.
The Eagles would then proceed to advance three rounds into the playoffs. While some key pieces may have since graduated, coach Madeline Odom will still have plenty of weapons in her arsenal.
District 21-6A Newcomer of the Year and GHVCA postseason team selection Jordan Morrow (So. OH) will look to lead the fold, following an exemplary freshman debut. She will be complemented by the talents of 2023 first-team, all-district honoree Cherrish Robinson (Sr. MH), as well as honorable mentions Emily Olano (Sr. DS), Gracie Williams (Jr. S), and Sadie Parsons (Jr. L).
This may be a new-look AHS squad, but that doesn’t mean they should be underestimated in 2024.
