Laniah Thornton & Shiloh Grays of Pearland Girls Basketball
The Oilers had a year to remember in 2023, reaching the UIL State Basketball Tournament for the first time since 1980, before ultimately falling short in the State Semifinals to finish 35-4 overall.
This will be a slightly different looking team as RyLee Grays is gone to graduation and signed with North Carolina.
First-team, all-district picks Nyah Hardy (10 ppg, 3 spg), and Laniah Thornton are back along with second-teamer Eliece Perry. Also watch out for Azyua Blair and Shiloh Grays this season.
Keys to success for Pearland this season include defense, rebounding and composure, according to third-year coach Jere’ Adams, who is 63-15 at Pearland at the helm.
Motto for Adams’ squad this year is “Our Tradition Our Time”. Now can they get back to the Dome in 2024?
