Texas A&M has seen great success coming into Houston and grabbing some of the top talent in not only the state but in the country.
The Aggies have added another big time Greater Houston-Area prospect today in 2025 Hitchcock four-star wide receiver Kelshaun Johnson .
Johnson picked the Aggies over Texas, USC, Arkansas and Texas Tech.
Johnson is one of the top wide receiver prospects in the country holding 24 offers from some of the top programs in the country. For the talented wide receiver the relationship with the Texas A&M staff is what gained his commitment.
“Sitting in meetings with Coach Klein, Coach Elko and Coach Wiggins they just felt like family,” he said.
“They have a plan to develop me as a player and also help mold me into the man I want to be off the field, that’s the type of program I want to be a part of.”
Coach Wiggins arrival as the wide receiver coach also played a big role in gaining Johnson’s commitment to the Aggies. Johnson is electric on the field with a 10.4 100M time and is very similar to a lot of players Wiggins developed at Alabama.
“Coach Wiggins has a great track record developing elite wide receivers,” Johnson said. “You look at how he developed DeVonta Smith and Henry Ruggs, those are two players that I feel like are very similar to me. I want to be coached by the best and coach Wiggins is one of the best.”
Now committed the speedster Johnson is looking forward to a big-time Senior season and help his team get to Jerry’s world.
“I can’t wait for this year,” Johnson said. “This is my last ride with my guys and we have been putting in a lot of work this offseason to make a big run in the playoffs and hopefully win it all.”
The Aggies have added an electric playmaker to their class and expect big things from the Hitchcock native once he gets to campus in 2025.
