THE HIERARCHY: VYPE SATX Final 2025 Football Rankings; Region's elite primed to make noise in postseason
10 Nov, 2025
As district play closes and the playoff lights switch on, the field of true contenders has come into focus.
At the top of Class 6A, Steele once again looks the part of a title threat, finishing 9-1 behind a commanding district run. Harlan joins them as one of the region’s few unbeatens, while Brennan and Johnson round out a formidable quartet that’s set the tone for large-school football all fall.
In 5A-Division I, Smithson Valley continues to lead the charge after a dominant district sweep. The race behind them in 13-5A-D1, however, was among the state’s most unpredictable, with New Braunfels, Boerne-Champion, and Pieper all posting 5-2 marks and critical wins over one another.
Boerne and Alamo Heights headline the 5A-DII group as proven challengers, while Davenport enters the 4A playoffs unbeaten and unshaken.
Now, as the brackets settle and the margins tighten, every snap carries consequence — and only those built for November will keep playing in December.

THE HIERARCY: VYPE DFW Final 2025 Football Rankings; Familiar Faces gear up for Playoffs
10 Nov, 2025
Southlake Carroll Dragons
Momentum has shifted and contenders have emerged, as the final whistle of district play gives way to the high-stakes march of November football. The Dallas-Fort Worth area once again finds itself at the center of the state’s most competitive playoff picture.
Southlake Carroll and Allen headline the list after flawless 10-0 campaigns, both asserting dominance in Class 6A. Duncanville, Prosper, and Waxahachie remain close behind, each fine-tuning its form as the postseason begins.
Power programs like Aledo and South Oak Cliff continue to anchor the 5A landscape, while Celina separated itself in the 4A classification. Also, Lone Star and Highland Park round out a strong tier of one-loss challengers.
Rising late-season stories—Coppell, North Forney, Walnut Grove, and Forney—add intrigue to an already deep field, proving that timing and momentum can be just as valuable as the bottom line.
As the UIL playoff brackets unfold, North Texas football enters its most defining stretch of the year, where every snap carries weight and every program chases a single goal: staying alive in December.

With 14 total qualifiers competing at Old Settlers Park, the Bears delivered another standout showing — capturing the UIL 6A Girls State Championship and earning bronze in the 6A Boys race to cap an impressive November run.
In this week’s feature, Bridgeland head coaches Tom Kennedy (Girls) and Kevin Waters (Boys) reflect on their teams’ success, the athletes who helped make it possible, and the enduring culture that continues to fuel the Bears’ rise.
