The Mavericks finished one-point shy of reaching the Region III-5A Semis a year ago. A 63-62 loss to Barbers Hill ended the Mavericks season at 29-8.
Peyton Cooks and Akyla Fields were thrown into the fire as a freshman and sophomore, respectively, and were the leading scorers.
Also returning is lone senior starter Jacqueline Oba, who is a double-double at 5-foot-8.
“We are young and inexperienced,” coach Jhared Marshall laughed. “We are also really small, so we have to win small. We have done it before. What sets us apart is our quickness.”
