Soccer doesn't wait, rain or shine.
In Royal High School the Royal Falcons soccer girls are really hitting it hard this year. From practicing in the muddy terrain, to running man-eaters, the girls' soccer team is going full force.
"My coach one day told me, pain is temporary but it's worth it," senior Dulce Garcia said.
In order to play hard, the girls must work hard to improve their skills, and learn the game.
When the girls are out on the field, they use their skills, as well as teamwork to achieve their goals. The game is played with teamwork, from passing the ball, protecting the goal, all the way to scoring.
"Every game we've played has made us grow closer to each other as a team," sophomore Deicy Robledo said. "I'm looking forward to seeing where our hard work and persistence will get us."
The team is really unified, and joke around from time to time, but at the end of the day, they know the importance of the game.
Soccer can be tough, but trying your best is what it's all about. With more practice the team gets it is exciting to see how far the team will grow. Growing in skills and how we perceive the game. The girls have already beat Colombus, making it their first win of district, and they are looking for more. Currently the Lady Falcons are 1-3, but they are ready to move up.
Soccer has its ups and downs, with it being a difficult sport, but it is always important to enjoy the game. The girls work hard, and try their best, but they know that soccer is always played better when they're having fun.
"I'm new to soccer this year, and I really enjoy it because all my teammates are really funny and easy to learn from," junior Hannah Matias said. "I'm hoping we win more in the future, but no matter what I still enjoy it because soccer days are always so fun and exciting mostly because of the people."
The Falcons have a home game on Monday at 5 p.m. against Sealy.
