THE LAYUP LINE: No. 22 Shadow Creek is more than capable of walking the walk
No. 22 — SHADOW CREEK SHARKS
Shadow Creek might boast one of the sharpest looks in Texas high school basketball — but as always, substance outweighs style.
Fortunately, the Sharks have the game to match the aesthetic.
Coming off a 26-10 campaign and another playoff appearance, tenth-year coach LaToya Micheaux guides a roster loaded with balance and efficiency. Junior guard Aliyah Woodard, last season’s leading scorer, poured in nearly 400 points en route to first-team, all-district honors. She’ll once again headline the attack alongside Da’Niyah Lewis (Sr. PG), a fellow first-team selection who contributed over 300 points and dished more than 100 assists.
Following a breakout season, sophomore Shona Gilbert (first-team)also returns primed for a bigger role.
Rounding out the rotation are Courtland Cloud (Jr. G), Kurynn McNeill (Sr. G), and Ijeoma Njeako (Sr. F) — each adding layers of depth and energy to the lineup.
Micheaux’s blueprint for 2026 is simple yet demanding: keep the tempo high, stay disruptive ondefense, and let the Sharks’ identity speak for itself.
