Strength on the Pitch: Northwest Lady Texans

After posting a less-than-ideal season last year, the Justin Northwest Lady Texans are on the move this season; working their way through district play. VYPE DFW takes a deeper dive into the program and what fans can expect as the team continues to put forth the energy that it takes to power themselves into post season play.

So Far

With a strong preseason schedule, the Lady Texans prepared for district by taking on some of the best programs in their area. Posting victories over the likes of Denton Braswell (2-0), South Garland (3-0), Irving Nimitz (2-1), and more, the Lady Texans were able to focus on building stamina and game day focus before heading into their district schedule. Once they opened district with a 4-1 victory over Saginaw, Northwest was ready to continue playing with everything they had. Despite a 6-1 loss against Aledo, the Lady Texans were quick to bounce back posting a 5-0 win over Fort Worth Brewer and a 2-0 win over Azle.

What's Ahead

As the team prepares to close out district play, they are looking to remain sharp on the pitch. Already having faced both Aledo and Azle, the Lady Texans will be able to better read their opponents not only as they warm up , but while studying film and playing the match as well. The team is set to host Aledo on Tuesday, February 21 at 7:15 p.m. in a rematch that is sure to be physical.

Fans can expect the Lady Texans to play with their entire heart over the rest of district play. Looking to make a playoff appearance and continue strengthening their record, Northwest is going to work hard to get to where they want to be- without ever backing down.
